There is no greater feeling of isolation than being a parent who receives an epilepsy diagnosis for their child or teenager. In their darkest moment, what makes the difference between desperate isolation and hope is support and understanding.
This is why the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County provides support and services to clients and their families at no charge. This is why support therapy groups and counseling are so critical for those dealing with a diagnosis. Just knowing you are not alone and being surround by others who have been through this makes all the difference in the world.
Gingerbread Kids is a free Epilepsy Education Forum and Family Event hosted by the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County that gathers families for a day of knowledge, sharing, nurturing, diversion and community celebration.
While children of all ages are led through holiday activities like building gingerbread houses and singing holiday songs, parents are nearby learning how to best manage and negotiate life with epilepsy for their child, themselves and their entire family. Physicians from the Foundation’s Professional Advisory Board share information on new treatments, practices, medications and findings that inform and empower.
If you would like to make a donation with a check, please make the check payable to Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County and mail to 2055 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego CA 92104. You may also bring cash or check to the event.
