Event Information
Families are encouraged to bring their young anglers (ages 4-14) to catch stocked trout and other fish at Clearbrook Park on the evening of May 12th from 5-8pm. On-site registration beings at 5pm and lasts until 5:50pm. Fishing will be from 6-7:30pm with awards being presented right after. Participants must bring their own fishing pole, bait, tackle, and gear to reel in the "big one". Awards and door prizes are in the works to make for the best fishing experience this year! The Youth Trout Derby will create memories for families that will last forever!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a rain-or-shine event so please come prepared.

Rules and Guidelines

Each angler is to use 1 fishing pole at a time.

There is a 4-trout limit.

After we record your 4 trout, you may continue to fish for 2 more trout (6 per day legal limit).

Awards will be given to the first male and female angler of each age group with 4 total trout catches.

Awards will be given to the first 5 Golden Trout catches overall.

Door prizes will be given throughout the derby with winning raffle tickets.

We do have bags if you need one to carry your trout home.

Adult supervision is encouraged to assist young anglers.

Please remember this is a Youth Derby, adult assistance is welcome, but having the kids fish is where the memories are made.
The law does not require children 14 years of age or under to obtain a fishing license. However, they must actively participate and be able to demonstrate the ability to handle the gear by themselves. They must also follow the same rules, regulations, and daily limits as adults. Adults may provide assistance but are not required to hold a license if they will not be fishing/harvesting themselves and children must be present and take part in the entire process.
