Tinker and Make to Learn sessions integrate academics with a child’s natural curiosity and creativity while teaching life skills via our Maker Lab Studios. Learners have an intrinsic desire to learn new things and gain new skills because we focus on one’s personal best. We encourage trying. We establish that mistakes are okay and we can learn from them. Learners build, deepen, or cement understanding by making. The educator defines the learning goals and provides structure, scaffolds, and support for learners.

Challenge quests focus on 21st century skills such as problem solving, collaboration, outside-the-box and critical thinking, and innovation. This activity may introduce a difficult concept, but allows free exploration to discover new knowledge and to use tools in a different / new way. Challenge Quests are much less structured than Tinker & Make to Learn activities, allowing more creative and innovative freedom as well as more responsibility for the maker.

Our full day experience allows your child to explore different Maker Lab studios every day. In our exclusive Tinker & Make to Learn Activities and Challenge Quests, we guide your child through how to use equipment and tools in each of our studios. These activities and challenges utilize the engineering design process, critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, and creativity. Your child will imagine, design, and create something new every day!

These sessions are tailored to meet participants at their skill level and build upon their strengths to gain mastery in a variety of life skills and academics. Sessions apply Dr. Jessa's 6 Essentials to Learn, which include a body in balance, healthy fuel, energy and focus, to believe in myself, control of my emotions, and to try new things.
