As an obstacle monitor, you will ensure safety while cheering on racers as they complete the obstacle. Upon arrival, you will be assigned an obstacle and directed to its location on 5k course. You will be provided an info lanyard to wear, listing contact information of Safety Director and procedure to follow in case of an injury/emergency. After you are stationed at your obstacle you will be responsible for ensuring racers are attempting the obstacle in a safe manner, which may include; cheering racers & dogs, answering any questions asked about how to conquer the obstacle, making sure no dogs are being forced to complete an obstacle against their will, and bringing any issues to the attention of the Safety Director. *Please note, during the competitive waves, if an owner and/or their dog are not able to complete an obstacle, they must step to a designated area off course and complete 30 squats. Racers are allowed to attempt an obstacle as many times as they like, as long as they're not holding up others. Perks of being an obstacle volunteer include: being a memorable part of each racer's experience, a Volunteer Tee, and 1 comp beverage ticket.
