Event Description
Get ready to spice things up at Big Dog Station’s Jack White 30th Annual Chili Cook-Off! This year’s event, benefiting Gilda’s Club South Florida, will be bigger and bolder than ever, with two divisions for competitors: the Amateur Home Cooks Division and a special First Responders Division for local heroes, including cops, firefighters, paramedics, and healthcare workers.
Think you’ve got the best chili in Broward County? Grab a team of four and enter the cook-off to prove it! Teams will take over a 10x10 space to decorate, cook, and compete for top prizes. Judging will be based on Taste, Texture, Presentation, Team Theme, and People’s Choice, with awards given in both divisions - First Responders Division & Amateur Home Chili Cookers. Prizes include cash, bar tabs, and gift certificates!
Event Details:
Registration: Amateur Home Cooks: $40 for early registration until 1/31/2025. After this date, the cost will go up to $50.
First Responders: $25 for early registration until 1/31/2025. After this date, the cost will go up to $30.
Final Registration Deadline: February 14, 2025. Payment may be made via money order, company check or online via the
event website at www.GildasSouthFlorida.org
Tasting Begins: 1 p.m.
Fun Extras: 50/50 raffles, people’s choice voting, and numerous prizes!
*Fees collected from teams, raffles, 50/50, sponsorships are considered a tax-deductible.
Event Schedule:
10:00 a.m.- Cooking Teams Begin Cooking & Prepping Chili
12:00 p.m. - Booth Setup and Decorating Completed by Teams
1:00 p.m. - Chili may be served to general tasters
3:00 p.m. - Judges begin tasting chili
4:30 p.m. - Announcement of chili cook-off winners
