Xcel Strategies Inc. is a mentoring network that was founded in Savannah, GA in 2012 to care for young people between 15-25 years of age.  Xcel exists to FUEL YOUNG PEOPLE WITH PURPOSE and passion to reach the fullness of their potential through a network of wise, seasoned, and trained mentors.

Blacksmith Training Breakout

Christian Manhood is under attack.  In a culture that consistently questions the traditional family, the role of men is a shifting sand of expectations and excuses.  Men carry a heavy load of responsibility – husband, father, breadwinner, mentor, spiritual leader, protector, caretaker, financial planner, coach, counselor, advisor….. The flood of input from our 24/7 media circus paints men as weak, emasculated, bumbling failures or narcissist overlords or self-absorbed sports addicts – or all of the above. 

Men, Christ-following Men, need community with other like minded men at what one writer terms “The Table of Influence”.  Every man needs a group of men around him with which do life – share fears, voice concerns, ask advice, develop friendships, garner accountability, push one other to higher levels.  We have a great model for this – Jesus had 12 men in his “tribe” and 3 of those were in his inner circle.  Every man needs a Paul (someone to pour into him), a Barnabas (someone to do life with), and a Timothy (someone into challenge and mentor).  At Compassion Christian, the Men’s Ministry is missioned with providing the opportunity to develop your Table of Influence.

So, what is a Blacksmith?  In keeping with the Men’s Ministry’s theme of “The Forge” – taken from Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person (man) sharpens another” – the Blacksmiths a group of men trained to lead small groups of men.  They have been nurtured through Men’s Community, Lead (or Co-Lead) Small Groups, and have the desire to see the men (of all ages) of Compassion find and develop their Table of Influence.

If you are interested in learning what being a leader of boys, young men, family men, seasoned men looks like, join us for a taste of Blacksmith training.  You will be challenged to take your walk to the next level. 3-5pm Friday Jan 10th 2025 Pre-conference Training.

We provide practical solutions to real world leadership challenges that are scalable, measurable and sustainable. This experience and knowledge comes from over 40 years of combined military experience of the partners, Steve Curran and Matt Rogie. The both continued to serve for another decade in ministry roles where they were fighting for the highest possible good of those they lead.
