ABOUT OUR TRAINER: Perry Whitaker is an American Canoe Association kayak instructor, and he's paddled the entire Mississippi River, most of it he's kayaked and canoed multiple times. He's also kayaked the Illinois River from Chicago to the Mississippi, the Missouri from Gavins Point to the Mississippi, and quite a few other rivers. It’s an honor and privilege to once again have Perry work us into his hectic schedule to share his vast knowledge of kayaking with our group. 

CLASS DETAILS: We are offering two separate classes on Saturday May 25th, 9-12 and 1-4. We have reserved the Bridgeview Park Pavilion, outside picnic tables. (Enter Bridgeview Park for directions) the cost per person is $33.00. This includes your kayak and all instruction. A total of 10 students will be admitted per class.

Kayaks, life jackets and paddles will be provided. However, please let us know if you plan on bringing your own. This class is for individuals who have never kayaked or who are in need of a refresher course before kayak season gets into full swing. Only individuals who have taken this class will be able to borrow kayaks from Central Illinois Women’s Outdoor Adventure for any of our sponsored kayaking events.
