The final game of the 2025 Corrigan Sports Enterprises "College Lacrosse Live Series" will pit two of the greatest programs in history against one another as the Cornell Big Red and Syracuse Orange battle for the crown of New York. Both teams enter the year with hopes of a national championship and expect to be in the fight for the top ranked team in the country. This matchup will be the first time in the 107 game history, dating back to 1920, that Cornell and Syracuse will play at a neutral site. Last year they met in one of the games of the year, which ended by Cornell winning 18-17 in a double overtime thriller.

Two New York based teams, playing in a neutral site game on Long Island throws out the idea of home field advantage, so anticipate the stands at Mitchel Field on April 12th to be rocking with Red and Orange. 

Cornell enters the year with high expectations due in part to the return of CJ Kirst and Michael Long, who led Cornell to the third ranked offense in 2024. Connor Buczek may have found a gold mine with now sophomores, Ryan Goldstein and Willem Firth, who can stretch the offense and potentially lead the Big Red as the highest scoring offense in the country. 

Inside Lacrosse preseason ranked #2, Syracuse University looks to return to glory for the eleventh time in program history and the first time since 2009 with possibly the most talented squad in the nation. The Orange return more starters than almost any title contender in 2025 and will look to use their experience and team chemistry to break through into Memorial Day Weekend.

The Long Island matchup from the 2024 College Lacrosse Live Series between Cornell and Notre Dame had over 8,000 fans in attendance so expect another sell-out crowd to descend upon Nassau County on April 12th.
