When you support Greatest Chefs of Michiana, you make our community better and build strength in those who live here. At the Y, our programs encourage healthy families, connect people to supportive resources, give kids a safe place to learn and play, and inspire social responsibility.

 

Our annual campaign provides financial assistance for memberships and programs to South Bend children and families in need. Your support helps guarantee that everyone—regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay—can belong to the Y.

With your support, in 2021 we:

• Provided 258 scholarships for members,
• Provided 35 scholarships for youth in child care programs
• Contributed to 123 scholarships for campers at YMCA Camp Eberhart
• Graduated 15 cancer survivors from LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA • Taught 350 swim lessons at area schools through Michiana Swims
• Cared for 113 children at summer camps
• And more!

Support from this event will help ensure the future of the Y and these programs in South Bend and the surrounding communities. Additionally, our partnership with City of South Bend Venues, Parks & Arts remains strong. We are excited by the impact our two organizations have made together and look forward to many years to come.

 

 

HOW IT WORKS

Local “celebrities” are paired with local chefs/restaurants, and together, they create a new dish that will be presented to the community through placement on the chef’s restaurant menu and at our event on October 28, 2022. The community is invited to purchase votes for their favorite team one month before and at the event. The team that raises the most money is awarded the title of “Greatest Chefs.”
