Night Kayaking on the Museum Reach is back! Join us for this unique opportunity and enjoy the holiday lights along San Antonio River. Reserve a kayak provided by the San Antonio River Authority or a slot to bring your own. 

For this Museum Reach paddling event, the river will be open between the locks and dam near Brooklyn Ave. and the turning basin near Pearl. The access point for this once-a-year holiday season paddling event is at river level along the Museum Reach segment of the San Antonio River Walk at the boat ramp off Newell Ave. near the intersection with Camden St. This location is a short walking distance from Pearl.

Registration is required to attend this event. A $15 fee is required if you choose to borrow a River Authority kayak. The registration fee will be a donation to the San Antonio River Foundation, the nonprofit organization associated with the River Authority. If you have your own kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddling board, registration is free. However, if you bring your own watercraft, you must also bring your own PFD to wear. PFDs will be required for all participants. 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

• Online registration is required for all participants, including those participating with their own watercraft.

• All participants utilizing the kayaks provided by the River Authority must be 15 years or older.

• There is a 250 lbs weight limit for use of the kayaks provided by the River Authority.

• Inflatable and solid Stand-Up Paddleboards are permitted – solid boards are preferred. No other inflatable boats or watercraft will be permitted.

• All participants, whether using a kayak provided by the River Authority or bringing their own equipment must check-in and sign a participation waiver at the registration table upon arrival. After signing the waiver, all participants will get a wristband and a glow stick to wear on the outside of their PFD.

• Before being allowed on the river, all participants will be required to show their wristband and have their glow stick visible on the outside of their PFD.

• The River Authority reserves the right to refuse river access for this Museum Reach paddling event to anyone who fails to follow the guidelines above. Individuals who are paddling on the river during this event may be required to exit the river and leave the event if they are deemed to be acting inappropriately or in a manner that is endangering themselves or others.
