“He gave the world's best hugs. Goofus Extraordinaire. Amazing chef! Enthusiastic Dancer! Incredible friend. Doting partner. All around great guy. Beloved son and brother.” These are just a few of the many sentiments heard from Matt Greene’s family and friends in the wake of his untimely death. On August 3rd, 2023, Matt passed away from complications related to type 1 diabetes. He was only 32 years old.

Matt spent nearly his whole life battling his diabetes; he was diagnosed with T1D when he was just two years old. April 21st would have been Matt’s 33rd birthday, in his honor we are fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Through critical research, the JDRF works tirelessly to find better treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure for T1D and its complications. They also provide support and advocacy for those living with T1D. The work they do helps prevent deaths like Matt’s.
