Description:

The World Health Organization estimates that approximately 90 million Americans navigate a life-limiting condition daily. Patients/clients with diagnoses such as Multiple Sclerosis or heart failure struggle to find a “liveable” balance in coping with the biopsychosocial-spiritual changes occurring with disease progression. This engaging, case-based workshop discusses four categories of meaning-focused coping strategies beneficial in advancing patients’/clients’ self-actualization in connection with Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy-Palliative Care principles and forefront best practices.

 

Learning Objectives:

1.     Discuss four categories of meaning-focused coping strategies.

2.     Analyze Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy-Palliative Care’s existential and structural framework.

3.     Construct a “liveable” quality of life intervention based on the strategies, Meaning-Centered

        Psychotherapy-Palliative Care principles, and best practices.
