Summer Solstice Sunset-Moonrise Paddle

Fri June 21, 2024 DeGray Lake Resort State Park
Bismarck, AR 71929 US

Information

The longest day and the shortest night - a golden sunset, plus a full moon's light! It's time for the Summer Solstice Celebratory Paddle!

Make the most of one the longest days of the year, and join our park interpreters to enjoy the cooler, quieter side of DeGray Lake. Paddle under the last rays of the setting sun and into the glow of a rising full moon. Participants get their choice of stand up paddleboard or flatwater kayak. All equipment is provided, and no previous paddling experience is necessary (though, encouraged if opting for a paddleboard). Our park interpreters will guide you through the basics of paddling and answer your nature questions along the way.  Participants must be at least 12 years old to paddle a boat/board solo and be prepared to paddle approximately 2 miles (1.5 hours). There is limited space available for children over the age of 6 to ride with an adult in a tandem kayak.  Reservations can be made by online through June 19. If spots remain, last minute registration will be available at the state park marina, (501) 865-5841 beginning at noon the day before (June 20). Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet, and bring a bottle of water!
