What time is totality? On Monday, April 8, 2024, the partial will begin at 12:23 pm; Full begins at 1:40 pm and ends at 1:44 pm. Partial ends at 3:02 pm.
Do I need to wear special glasses to experience the eclipse? Yes! For your safety, you need to wear glasses designed to view the eclipse. Eclipse glasses are available for purchase at the Samuell Farm Welcome Center and included in the cost of a Sunday day pass.
What are the event grounds like? The event grounds are primarily grass and gravel. We do not have any paved areas.
I am interested in camping. What can I expect? Samuell Farm is not a permanent campground. For the sake of this event, we will be offering festival-style camping. You will be designated a spot for your vehicle and tent/trailer. We are bringing in additional restroom facilities. The event grounds do not have showers. We have a limited number of specialty camping available where tents and cots are provided.
What about food? Each day, we will have several food vendors on site. In addition, you may bring your own food or there are several food establishments in the area. We will have a couple group cooking areas where you may use a campfire to cook your food (with the exception of a burn ban). Please note, we do not have washing stations available.
Group cooking times: Saturday, 12-9:30p; Sunday, 7:30a-10p; Monday: 7:30a-4:30p
Is water available at the Farm? We have limited water sources at the farm and encourage you to bring all the water you will need for the weekend (including water to wash any dishes). There is an area by the Welcome Center where you can refill your water bottles and jugs.
How many people will be attending this event? Samuell Farm has the capacity for up to 3,000 campers and 3,000 day pass attendees.
What activities are included in my camping or day pass ticket? Most of the activities are included in the cost of your ticket! Activities in the event calendar marked by an asterick note an additional fee is required. Space is limited. Make sure to grab an activities guide at the Welcome Center!
Are ATVs/UTVs allowed? Due to the safety of all, ATVs/UTVs are not allowed.
Are drones allowed? For the safety of all, drones are not allowed.
What about electricity? Electricity is very limited at the farm. We encourage you to bring portable chargers to power your devices. We will have a small charging room at the Welcome Center where you can access electricity.
I'm not able to attend anymore. Can I get a refund? This event follows the standard industry policy: All purchases are non-refundable and may not be exchanged, including store merchandise. No refunds will be issued. The Dallas Park and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as a natural disaster or emergency or as required to protect the safety of attendees and staff. In the event of cancellation by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department, a refund for camping and/or day passes only will be issued. The Dallas Park and Recreation Department reserves the right to change the details of the event without prior notice.
