Event Description
The first iteration of the 2025 Corrigan Sports Enterprises 'College Lacrosse Live Series' brings Towson University and the University of Virginia to Houston, Texas for this neutral site matchup of two top teams in the country. Texas, a growing hotbed for talent in lacrosse, provides an opportunity for players and parents to see exactly what top-tier D1 lacrosse looks like at the next level.
The University of Virginia has already tapped into this market with two of its current players, Matt Nunes and Reese Stepanian, coming from the Houston area with hopes of more joining the Wahoo's in the future. Virginia expects to compete for a national championship in 2025 with two All-Americans, Griffin Schutz and Ben Wayer, returning in the midfield. With a schedule of ten opponents reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2024, coach Lars Tiffany expects his players to be battle tested heading into the postseason.
Towson earned one of its strongest years in program history in 2024, finishing No. 12 in the national in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. The Tigers went 13-4, including a nine-game winning streak, the longest winning streak in the DI era and longest since 1971. Towson went undefeated in CAA play to earn the regular season league title, and then cruise to earn the CAA Tournament title and a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
This neutral site game will take place on March 8th in Houston, Texas at the Kinkaid School. For more information about the event, visit: www.collegelacrosselive.com or view the 2024 College Lacrosse Live Recap Video on CSELax Youtube
