Event Description
Corrigan Sports Enterprises added a Women's game to the College Lacrosse Live slate with two of the premier programs in the country battling to vie for the DMV crown. The University of Virginia and The University of Maryland renews its rivalry at Notre Dame Prep on April 9th. This game, and the entire 2025 College Lacrosse Live Series, will help to benefit the One Love Foundation; a charity organization dedicated in honor of University of Virginia and Notre Dame Prep lacrosse player, Yeardley Love.
University of Maryland Head Coach Cathy Reese is excited to play Virginia in this game that goes beyond the field saying, "We're thrilled to be part of Corrigan Sports Enterprises' 'College Lacrosse Live Series' at Notre Dame Prep and to honor Yeardley Love and the important work of the One Love Foundation." Maryland comes into the season welcoming two former players, Alex Aust Holman and Caroline Steele, to their staff and a ton of new talent that will hopefully propel the Terps to their 16th National Championship.
The University of Virginia enters 2025 with very high hopes of returning to the post season after finishing with a 15-5 record and its highest seed in the NCAA Tournament since 2008. Head Coach Sonia LaMonica earned Co-ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2024 and looks to return to the post season with eleven freshman joining the squad.
On April 9th, both teams will be playing more than just another game as they step onto "Yeardley Love Field" at Notre Dame Prep to honor her memory. Former Virginia Head Coach and CEO of the One Love Foundation, Julie Myers, explained how this game is about more than just lacrosse, saying: This game is a chance for us to honor Yeardley’s legacy as we raise awareness of the Foundation and of relationship abuse and continue our work to educate and empower young people to build healthy relationships. Lacrosse has such a strong connection to Yeardley’s story, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to highlight our important cause and on such a national stage.”
