Halloween is right around the corner. We know so many of you love to dress up your pets for Halloween (who can resist those adorable costumes).  

Let’s get creative and have some fun while supporting the James Madison Belle Grove Foundation’s fundraising efforts for our October events.  

Enter a photo of your pet’s adorable mug and get in the running to win some amazing prizes including Gift Cards from SnapShop Genius Online Pet Supply, Belle Grove Plantation Bed and Breakfast, and a family photo session with your pet with Tyler Darnell Photography.

How to Enter:

1.      Like our “Wag-o-Ween at Belle Grove Plantation” Facebook page

2.      Share our “Wag-o-Ween at Belle Grove Plantation” Facebook page

3.      Snap a photo of your pet (all species may apply)

4.      Dress up your pet in their Halloween costume and snap a photo of your pet. Make sure it is a high-resolution photo and is very clear. What you give us is what we will use. Only one photo per pet.

5.      Post your pet’s photo to our Facebook page with their name, age, breed, and short description or you can email us a photo of your pet with their name, age, breed, and short description to information@bellegroveplantation.com.

Our “Wag-o-Ween” Online Pet Costume Contest will begin on August 10, 2024 at 12:01am (eastern) and end on October 1, 2024 at 11:59pm (eastern)

How to Vote:

1. Select your category (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles or other animal)
2. Review the participants for each category.
3. To vote, click on the button below the picture.
4. Each Vote cost $5.00 per vote. The proceeds from the contest will go to the James Madison Belle Grove Foundation.

You may vote as often as you wish. Thank you!

The Contest consists of seven (7) rounds of evaluation. 


Starting Groups – Cats, Dogs, Birds, Reptiles, and Other Animals

There is no cost to enter. Voting will be $5 per vote and can only be voted on through our online voting site. A Leader Board will be available to watch for your placement.

All funds raised will benefit the October 2024 events hosted by the James Madison Belle Grove Foundation including:

·         An Evening with Edger Allen Poe on Saturday, October 5th

·         Ghost Stories around the Fire on Saturday, October 5th

·         Not So Wicked Witches Tea Part on Sunday, October 13th

·         Haunted Hotel at Belle Grove Plantation from Saturday, October 19th to Tuesday, October 31st

ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to persons residing in the 50 United States or District of Columbia [excluding residents of Rhode Island] who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry, have an email account, and are not a professional photographer (someone who makes a significant amount of income from their photography or holds themselves out to be a professional photographer on social media or by offering studio time and charging for services. This determination is made at Belle Groves’ sole discretion.).

PRIZE:

1st Place Winner will receive :

·         Will hold the title of Cutest Pet for one year and will appear in our Belle Grove Plantation Newsletter

·         $100 gift card to SnapShop Genius Online Pet Foods & Supplies

·         A Family Photo Session with Tyler Darnell Photography

·         $500 gift card to Belle Grove Plantation in King George, Virginia

2nd Place Winner will receive:

·         $50 gift card to SnapShop Genius Online Pet Food and Supplies

·         $300 gift card to Belle Grove Plantation in King George, Virginia

3rd Place Winner will receive:

·         $25 gift card to SnapShop Genius Online Pet Food and Supplies

PHOTOS: Each electronic image must be an original piece of work taken by the contestant and shall not have been published elsewhere or won another photo competition. By entering the contest, the entrant warrants that the submitted image is an original work created solely by the entrant; does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity; and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the entry.

HOW TO ENTER (Photo + description): During the Entry Period, post a photo of your pet (in jpg format) with their name, age, breed and a brief description on our Facebook wall or email it to information@bellegroveplantation. All types of pets are accepted, not just dogs and cats. All entries must be received during the Entry Period as determined by Belle Grove Plantation. You may enter multiple animals, but only one photo of each animal. Please do not submit multiple photos of the same pet.

By entering the Contest, entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules. Belle Grove Plantation reserves the right to verify eligibility of all entrants. Entries submitted by entrants who do not meet the eligibility requirements are void. Belle Grove Plantation reserves the right to modify the scheduling of the Contest without prior notification.
