Matt & Polly will walk you through the process to help make you feel more comfortable with the winter pruning of your own apple trees! You will get to prune your own tree and mark it so you can come back and look at it in the fall or during our other planned workshops through the season!

Come to our orchard for an introductory workshop to winter pruning of apple trees and a conversation on basic concepts and technical aspects including a demonstration with plenty of hands-on experience with managed trees at McDougal Orchards! 

Each workshop will run from 9:00am -12:00pm on the dates listed below, with the snow date being that Sunday. 

$50 (plus a small processing fee) per attendee (Limit 10 per session)- Coffee/ Tea provided.

Note: These workshops will mainly be outside. Participants must be prepared for weather and plan to dress accordingly. 

Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand tools, mainly loppers. We will have pole pruners for use. McDougal Orchards will have a few tools available for use as well.

This course is suitable for anyone with limited or no pruning experience at all and wants to learn the basics of caring for your apple trees.

Suggested outerwear: Insulated boots/snow boots, jacket, hat that will cover ears, gloves/mittens, snow pants or long johns, winter socks, scarf or face covering (check the weather report!). Extra layers are recommended. Participants must be prepared for weather and plan to dress accordingly. At our location there is a breeze and can sometimes feel colder!

Cancellation/ Refund Policy: You may request to cancel your ticket for a full refund, up to 72 hours before the date and time of the event. Cancellations between 25-72 hours before the event may be transferred to a different date/time of the same class. Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the class date/time may not receive a refund or a transfer. When you register for a class, you agree to these terms.
