Workshop Details
The inaugural Visionary Workshop powered by Children's Center for the Visually Impaired will be held on Monday, March 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a focus on all things vision!
Keynote Speaker:
Kevin Hollinger, TVI, COMS, CATIS
Kevin Hollinger is a distinguished professional in the field of visual impairment and special education, bringing over 25 years of expertise and a strong educational foundation to his work. Kevin’s academic background includes a Master of Arts in Orientation & Mobility from Western Michigan University, a Master of Arts in Special Education from Truman State University, a Graduate Certificate in Visual Impairment from Missouri State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Truman State. As a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) with an Exceptional Needs Specialist designation in Visual Impairment, he combines deep knowledge with practical experience to support diverse learning needs. Kevin has been an influential educator. Since 1999, he has served the Francis Howell School District as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Special Education Teacher.
Workshop Sessions Include:
-Build a tactile learning profile and familiarize with the communication matrix
-Hear how to partner with parents and colleagues in the most effective ways
-Learn how to implement literacy strategies across visually impaired populations and students with multiple disabilities
