As a Race Operations team member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of race logistics and a seamless experience for the athletes.
Position: Race Operations Crew
Location: Southeast Michigan
Employment Type: Part-time
Position Overview:
Race Operations crew members are part of a strong team that takes raw equipment through a proper set up a staging process to create a top-notch race experience. The job entails selecting equipment from the warehouse and loading into box trucks, transporting to the event site, setup, management during the race, tear down, and unloading back at the warehouse. Race crew assists with all areas of the event on race day.
Responsibilities will vary per event, but will include:
• Pack trucks
• Load/unload
• Drive trucks
• Mark Course
• Follow site plan to set up event using:
o Stakes
o Fencing
o Barricade
o Tents
o Tables
o Electrical
o Inflatables
o Flagging
o Truss
Hours:
Day before event through unloading on race day, staff meetings, additional hours as needed for additional pay.
Physical Demands:
The nature of this job often requires physical exertion associated with event set-up, tear down, and event execution. Applicant should be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work outside in a hot and humid environment.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions that can be extreme.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in event setup, warehouse management, construction, or engineering roles is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with participants, volunteers, and colleagues.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by event schedules.
• Passion for endurance sports and a commitment to promoting health, wellness, and community engagement through endurance events.
• Must have reliable transportation.
