Willkommen and Merry Christmas!

Thank you for choosing to spend a day or evening gathering and experiencing CHRISTkindlmarkt CHS as part of your Christmas season! Our desire is that it brings you joy while you shop, sip, eat, and possibly slow a bit to ponder the meaning of CHRISTmas. Here are some tips you may find helpful and most of all HAVE FUN…….

·      ALL parking and ticket check in is at 4451 N Hwy 17 in Awendaw.

·      If you are non-ambulatory and use an adaptive device including a  wheelchair, walker, or scooter you may present it and obtain a transport card for the ADA transportation. Guest with strollers and ambulatory persons ride the school buses provided.

·      Please have your ticket ready on your phone at check in. Also, your ID if over 21 and plan to purchase and drink alcohol.

·      Everyone in your party does NOT have to arrive together to check in.

·      Your wristband allows you to board the bus. ALWAYS board BACK to FRONT for time efficiency.

 ·      Transport departs ONE hour before your ticket time and runs continuously. Food, drink, and some shopping will be available until the opening ticketed time.

·      Glühwein, a hot mulled wine is the drink of the German Christmas Markets. At CKMC it is served in a ceramic wine cup created in Germany. The wine cup is for keeps and must first be purchased for 15.00. The Glühwein is a separate wine purchase  and can re-“fill” throughout the markt experience.

·      German bier on tap is available as well as our “Bier of the Year” in our traditional swing top bottle.

·      The featured Main food vendors for starters is Flammkuchen = “tarte flambee, which is a crisp baked flat bread with simple ingredients and packed with flavor and is ever popular at German Markets. We also welcome Nick’s German Kitchen this year and returning food vendors Lowfeld Soul Food (can you say English meat pies) and our trusty eats and friends from Saltwater Cowboys!

·      You will find your fav chocolate chip cookie, stollen, caramels and maybe more at the Zucker Hütte, along with Donut Daddy, Twisted Jack’s Pretzels, and at Day Markts Dolce Vita ice cream cart!

·      Kinder Vendors (age 18 or under) are selling crafts, jewelry, wreaths, homemade German cookies, ornaments, whittled wood, fudge and more! Please support our young entrepreneurs at the Klaus Haus tent by the LGB German train constructed by Chris Ott.

·      Small business vendors, artisans, crafters, and makers along with handmade German Handwerks are available to shop at The Glashaus, Vendor Strasse, Vendor Row, Vendor Haus and GHW!

·      On the terrace stroll the window displays and snap a pic “in Germany” at the winter street scene.

·      If GIVING is a part of your CHRISTMAS, find the fence at the GIVING GARDEN where there are opportunities for you to learn about and GIVE to local non-profit organizations assisting people with various needs for furniture resources, spiritual needs, re-emerging from prison or in need of shelter.

·      Join the GERMAN MEET UP for all Germans and anyone who has lived in Germany. The host will be our very own Conny, and her husband Gunar whose life and love inspired our CHRISTkindlmarkt CHS. They are visiting from Heidenheim, Germany to see what they began through our family!  The MEET UP is at 3:30 daily and 8:30 nightly near the German Street scene near the terrace.

·      Lastly, we welcome all to stay for DAY Markt closing carols and STORYTIME at 4:40 daily or NIGHT Markt VESPERS at 9:40 nightly. Both are at the fire circle at the entry.

We appreciate so much you celebrating Christmas with us, Fröhe Weihnachten and Merry Christmas!
